Full-Depth Reclamation – Blue Ridge Mountains, Virginia
This 12-mile, multi-county Blue Ridge Parkway Rehabilitation Project was completed in just under five months at a cost savings of approximately $2.65 million—all while curbing the environmental impact of the average road rehab project and revitalizing a crucial artery to some of Virginia’s most captivating landscape for, hopefully, another generation.
Full-Depth Reclamation Symposium – Greenville, South Carolina
In February 2015, the PCA-SE held its first Full-Depth Reclamation (FDR) Symposium at the Hyatt Regency in Greenville, SC. At a live field demo on Nichol Street, the existing pavement and base were reclaimed to a depth of 8 inches using 40 pounds of Portland Cement per SY. The base was primed, sanded, and reopened to traffic the same day. (Promotion Spotlight #1502.2)
